All employees at Google are supposed to spend 20 percent of their time working on personal projects of interest. Google says that the policy encourages creativity. And without Google's willingness to take risks and not be afraid of tripping, stumbling, and sometimes falling flat on its face, the company might not be what it is today. Perhaps Google's greatness can be measured by its failures as well as its successes.

Linux Needs Work to Move to Next Level

"Novell CEO Ron Hovsepian says Linux is now mainstream, but developers need to create more apps to expand the market."

"The No. 1 thing that we need on Linux is applications," he said.

I think that's absolutely right. Because a normal user can use Windows easily because of its easygoing applications. They can use mouse by clicking Yes, No and Cancel or Next button. But Linux, users must know commands and basic knowledge. I am not a linux developers but I love using Linux. So I want many applications on Linux. Still now, I use Windows Applications as I can't leave it.
